What we're experiencing today can be called a type of Disaster Capitalism.
For example, the homeless crisis in all big cities is intentional. Business associations
like the PBA and Portland Prosper-ity (for the already prosperous) Development Commission
buy up devalued homes for pennies on the dollar while landlords jack up the rent.
Cities are becoming so terrible, residents with the means to move will pay top dollar to
live anywhere less messed up than the places they leave behind. We should've recalled
that lying jerk Ted Wheeler when we had the chance.
